Flybe plane emergency
02.12.11
Emergency services rushed to Southampton Airport earlier this week when a Flybe plane carrying 50 passengers reported technical problems as it came in to land, the Echo reports. Crews from Eastleigh and St Mary’s were at the runway to back up the airport's own firefighters amid reports that the plane arriving from Amsterdam had got into difficulties.
The pilot considered diverting the Dash 8 plane to Gatwick Airport. However, flight BE1018 made a safe landing 20 minutes late at Southampton Airport . The UK's Air Accident Investigation Branch confirmed it was examining the incident, which happened during the evening flight from Holland on Tuesday.
