Emergency landing for plane hit by lightening

A plane landed safely at Bournemouth Airport after it was hit by lightning in bad weather this morning. The British Airways flight from Southampton Airport to Glasgow was redirected to Bournemouth during an emergency operation.
The pilot informed passengers of the situation 10 minutes into the flight. One passenger told BBC News there was a burning smell and some smoke in the cabin. No-one is believed to have been injured.
Emergency crews attended the scene but were stood down soon after arriving. The flight had been scheduled to leave at 06:45.
