Passengers up 18.5%

Passenger numbers at Southampton Airport were up by 18.5% in April, boosted by the later Easter and a lower comparative because of the ash cloud crisis last April. The airport handled 143,700 passengers in April, however, its passenger numbers between May 2010 and April 2011 were down 1.5% on a year earlier at 1.74m.
