Passengers drop by 1.1%

Southampton Airport reported a 1.1% drop in passengers last month compared to the same month last year. 157,900 passengers passed through its terminal, compared to 159,700 in May 2010.
The drop is in contrast to BAA's other UK airports, all of which enjoyed a rise in passenger numbers, boosted by both the Royal Wedding and the late Easter holiday. The company blamed the drop at Southampton on fewer passengers taking European scheduled flights.
