Green baggage trucks introduced

Southampton Airport and Aviance UK have introduced six new electric baggage vehicles. The new trucks have no CO2 exhaust emissions, and replace older diesel vehicles.
The silent vehicles, which cost £35,000 each, now represent 40 percent of the entire baggage vehicle fleet at the airport. Each vehicle can carry around 100 bags and up to four members of staff at one time, reducing the need for repeat journeys.
