Airport prepares for busy Christmas

Southampton Airport is preparing to welcome over 77,000 passengers over the Christmas and New Year period, making it the busiest festive season in its 97 year history. This follows a busy November, which saw more than 149,000 passengers use the airport - an increase of 1.98% on 2006.
The top Christmas destinations are Edinburgh, Glasgow, Jersey, Guernsey, Manchester, Paris, Newcastle, Amsterdam, Belfast and Dublin. Ski routes to Berne, Chambery, Geneva, Innsbruck and Salzburg will also be popular, and almost 500 people will travel to Lapland to meet Father Christmas.
