Another emergency landing for a Flybe plane
17.09.08
A Flybe passenger plane operating a flight from Scotland was at the centre of a drama after developing engine problems as it approached Southampton Airport yesterday afternoon, the Echo reports. The incident comes hot in the heels of another emergency for Flybe at the airport.
The newspaper reports that the pilot radioed for help after shutting down the right hand engine. Emergency services were scrambled into action just before 14:00, however the Flybe plane, carrying 27 passengers and four crew, landed safely.
A Southampton Airport spokesperson said: ‘Flybe flight BE394 from Inverness experienced technical problems. Emergency services attended the airport as a matter of precaution, but were not required. The plane landed safely and all passengers and crew are fine.’
