Flybe add Dublin flights ahead of six nations clash

Flybe is increasing capacity to meet the exceptional demand between Southampton and Dublin ahead of the Six Nations match next month between England and Ireland. The airline will operate a total of 26 flights to and from Southampton to the Irish capital over the March 19 weekend, and has substituted 118-seat Embraer 195 jets for the 78-seater Q400 planes that normally fly the route.
Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mike Rutter, says: ‘One of the secrets of our successful business model is our ability to react quickly to customers’ needs. The demand over this Six Nations’ rugby weekend is no exception. By having the ability to add extra flights and substitute larger aircraft on other services, we have been able to increase our capacity by 85% that weekend. This will ensure that no fan is disappointed by not being able to make it to the match in person to cheer whichever team they support.’
