Flybe double capacity on Inverness route
21.05.08
Flybe has announced that it is upgrading the aircraft used on its Inverness to Manchester and Southampton Airport routes. The regional budget airline will use a 78-seat state-of-the art Bombardier Q400 on the routes, effectively doubling capacity on the flights.
The aircraft upgrade is being made much earlier than originally planned after ticket sales exceeded all expectations, the airline said. Flybe only launched the new routes on May 8 and, after just over one week in operation, the decision has been made to upgrade the aircraft.
This changeover from the E145 currently operating the routes will start on July 10 on the Inverness to Manchester service. Flybe has not released details of when the new planes will be introduced on the Southampton route, but we assuming the timing will be similar.
