24.05.08
Staff at Southampton Airport raised over £24,000 for charity after completing a host of fundraising activities in the last month. The money they raised was boosted by donations from the BAA Communities Trust charity at the annual Volunteer Awards held in London.
The event rewards staff who raise money for charity. Three staff from the south coast airport won the top prize, each receiving £5,000 for their chosen charities. Other staff members received awards between £200 and £500, with more than £24,000 donated to their chosen charities.
Chris Butler, managing director at Southampton Airport, said: ‘I am proud to work with such motivated and inspirational people. I would like to congratulate them for their achievements.’
