Roadworks warning

Passengers using Southampton Airport are being warned of potentially significant delays because of roadworks. Major work is being carried out by Hampshire County Council on the A335 Southampton Road, in Eastleigh, from next week and will last more than four months.
The work will take place between Monday (June 30) and November, from the Romsey Road roundabout to Chestnut Avenue. A signed temporary diversion route will operate via Romsey Road, Leigh Road, Passfield Avenue and Stoneham Lane to the main interchange roundabout for Southampton Airport and M27 Junction 5.
An airport spokesman warned that significant delays could occur at peak times, and passengers should allow extra time to travel to the airport. Those arriving by bus should also check with the operator before travelling for any timetable or route changes.
