Flybe celebrated the 10 millionth passenger on its extensive route network to and from Southampton Airport on Friday. Bournemouth resident, Janet Cauchi, who was returning from Edinburgh, received flowers and a 12-month complimentary pass to the airline’s Executive Lounge at Southampton along with a certificate to commemorate the milestone.
Flybe's Chief Commercial Officer, Mike Rutter, said: ‘We are delighted to celebrate Mrs Cauchi being the 10 millionth Flybe passenger to fly on one our Southampton Airport flights. This summer we are operating 720 flights a week out of our biggest UK airport base.’
David Lees, Managing Director of Southampton Airport, added: ‘We are delighted to welcome Flybe’s 10 millionth passenger through our airport. It is even more special to be celebrating this key milestone in 2010, the airport's Centenary Year.’
