Blue Islands add Guernsey flights

Channel Islands airline Blue Islands is introducing an additional 12 flights per week (6 return flights) on its Southampton Airport - Guernsey route from July 10. The new middle of the day flights will join the already busy morning and evening schedule.
In the 12 months since Blue Islands started operating on the route, the market saw a 16% increase in the last 6 months of 2007 and to date in 2008 this has risen to 23%. A spokesman said: ‘this is a clear indication that competition benefits both local residents travelling to the UK and visitors coming to the island. Our affordable flexibility, allowing passengers to change booking dates or names at no extra cost, has forced Flybe to lower its fares to compete.’
The additional services from Southampton to Guernsey Monday to Friday depart at 15.15 arriving in Guernsey at 16.00. The inbound flights to Southampton depart Guernsey at 14.00 arriving in Southampton at 14.45. The additional flight on Sunday from Southampton is at 17.15 arriving in Guernsey at 18.00. The inbound flight to Southampton leaves Guernsey at 16.00 arriving Southampton at 16.45.
Blue Islands offer two fares on the Southampton route, off peak single at £52 including all taxes and airport charges and a peak fare of £67. All flights can be booked online at www.blueislands.com or through the airline’s central reservations on 08456 202 122.
