Thomas Cook return
30.08.10
Thomas Cook is to return to Southampton Airport after more than 5 years’ absence when it launches flights to Majorca next summer. Although the airline, which is one of the UK’s largest with a fleet of 44 planes, is launching just one route from Southampton, and the route will be operated using a chartered Flybe aircraft, the airport is hoping it is just the first of many.
The arrival of another big airline will be welcome after Air France announced it is to pull out of Southampton Airport later this year. Thomas Cook carried more than 8 million passengers last year. The new flights to Palma will leave every Saturday from next May until September.
